Our customers

  • Individual residents

Residents residing close to the Bee Sanctuary Compost Hub now have the convenient option to compost with us. The process is simple - just head to the Bee Sanctuary gate where you'll find a wheelie bin. This bin is secured with a padlock, and once your initial payment is made, we'll provide you with the code. With this code, you can easily deposit your organic waste into the bin at your convenience.

In the image above, a resident can be seen utilising a plastic bin to store his kitchen scraps. Once his container is full, he takes a walk to the hub and deposits it into our collection bin.

  • Food vendors at UoA

Conscious Eats, our favorite vegan eatery located on the UoA campus, has joined hands with us at the Bee Sanctuary Compost Hub to compost their food scraps. They have been provided with two wheelies to fill up.

If you run a food business nearby and are intrigued by the idea of composting with us, don't hesitate to get in touch. Let's work together.

  • Apartments

A whole apartment complex, which consists of up to 30 units has begun composting with us at the Bee Sanctuary Compost Hub!

To facilitate their participation, we equipped each unit with a lidded caddy (see picture!) to collect their household organic waste. Residents can conveniently drop off their food scraps into our designated wheelie bin next to the recycling and rubbish collection station. Adjacent to the bins, we provide brown materials such as coffee chaff and shredded paper, allowing residents to sprinkle a handful on top of their food scraps to deter fruit flies.

This collaborative effort not only enables apartment residents to understand the destination of their household food scraps but also reduces carbon emissions associated with waste transportation. Additionally, residents are free to utilise the compost created at the hub to nourish indoor plants or balcony herbs. Win win!
